Develop a design for your own handbag or other fashion accessory under the supportive eye of our resident expert, Katherine Pogson...
This in-depth evening course over eight weeks allows you to design and make your own handbag or other fashion accessories under the supportive eye of our resident expert, Katherine Pogson.
You will develop your ideas into a proper working pattern, testing out volume, shape and proportion, before going on to choose materials and fittings, cut, line and finish your very own creation, exploring a variety of decorative and construction techniques for handbags and other leather accessories along the way.
Each session will focus on a new technique, followed by tie for development of your individual projects with support from Katherine.
- Develop a patten from your own design
- Master three different seam types for machine and hand sewing leather
- Practice inserting zips, pockets and handles
- Add linings and facings
- Insert metal fittings with confidence
If you have a particular project or idea you would like to develop, please do get in touch - our small class size means we can tailor the course plan to your needs!
By the end of this course, you should have a finished prototype of your own original design.
